Generating Ideas - Portraiture

We were asked to go out and see what portraits we could achieve that were unconventional and different. We needed to make sure they were fresh, unique and that challenged normal portraiture. We used a lot of different techniques like shadows and reflections or even just body parts because they all count as portraits.
I happened to choose catching people off guard while they were evaluating something they have just done like listening to their music and looking at a photograph. I think this captures how they react to the photograph and that it shows them as natural as possible doing something they like to do.

I like this photograph because it wouldn't be considered 'proffesional', but then you also have a very professional aspect of the photograph with the camera on a tripod in the corner. Almost creating some juxtaposition.
With this photograph I like how I was able to get the colours to come out very bright but not overexposed, also you can see that they are analysing a photo they have just taken. I think this challenges normal portraits in that we can't see / hear what they're analysing it's almost a mystery.
I like this because I took it while he was listening to some music he had just recorded  and seeing if he liked it or had to do it again.
